The Arizona 250 GT has been developed by Oce's research centre in Vancouver (Canada).
The new printing system is claimed to enable ink droplets to vary in size and density, creating near photographic images through Oce's Variadot imaging technology.
The company said that the Arizona 250 GT will be commercially available during early 2007.
The company also believes that the new printing system will enable customers to decrease their printing costs.
Oce commented that industry experts estimate that the global graphic arts market is worth EUR2.6 billion and they anticipate the market to grow with about six per cent per annum.
The core of the market are digital printers, graphics screen printers, sign makers, photographic laboratories and reprographers, producing large-scale text and images for indoor or outdoor use.
The company added that in 2001, it started to invest in the graphic arts market and that it is committed to becoming one of the main players in the currently highly fragmented market place.
Today, this market consists of numerous vendor companies that focus on specific printing techniques.
In addition, since 2001, Oce said it has conducted several strategic acquisitions in the USA, Scandinavia, France and the Benelux countries.
The company has also introduced a series of new products for the graphic arts market.
Gido van Praag, who is spearheading Oce's activities in this fast growing market, commented: "Today, Oce is a key supplier offering its customers a complete range of best-in-class products for graphic arts that spans equipment, media, ink, software and consultancy.
In the graphic arts market, we have global distribution power, a global service organisation and an excellent fulfilment system, supplying a diverse range of print media to meet the needs of our customers.
In 2005, Oce grew in the graphic arts market faster than the market and we are committed to continuing this growth.".
