The EFI extensions in Prismaproduction are claimed to give print providers a comprehensive system for integrated management of their infrastructures and print workflows.
Print providers can manage their high performance mono systems together with their colour printing systems and now benefit from greater efficiency in Prismaproduction-based workflows for combined colour and mono products, such as books with colour covers, said Oce.
The software centralises accounting, job spooling and registration, notifications and status monitoring.
It also takes care of load balancing, ensuring that jobs are spread efficiently between printing systems, added the company.
Java-programmed applications can be used to give remote users access to printing facilities, with functions for submitting jobs remotely to printing systems and for managing and monitoring multi-site print operations.
The EFI extensions in Prismaproduction are based on the EFI Software Development Kit (SDK).
By applying the EFI SDK in Oce's Prismaproduction, the two companies believe that they are reinforcing their long-term business collaboration to provide customers with better attuned and tested systems that are engineered to dovetail.
The modular Prisma software suite comprises systems for managing print and document workflows.
Supporting Oce and non-Oce hardware and software, Prisma is claimed to enable unified workflow management from input to archiving.
