Oki offers Template Manager support for Eduprint

Oki Printing is supporting Eduprint, a print-on-demand resource for schools, colleges and study centres.

Eduprint was devised by Oki partner The Landscape Group and combines large-format high-definition colour printing, multiple media options, software and security systems, an image gallery, presentation templates and finishing elements.

Oki's 'Look What You Can Do' proposition allows pupils and students to use high-quality colour printouts to bring coursework and projects to life.

Special Eduprint Centres have been established at more than 50 sites across the UK, including Kings' School, Winchester; Portsmouth Grammar School; Herfordshire-based Hertswood School Specialist Art College; and Coventry Rugby Football Club.

Landscape has installed a customised in-house Eduprint Centre at each site, featuring an A3 colour laser LED printer from Oki.

Eduprint also brings a selection of enterprise-based learning opportunities to students.

This aids the government's focus on encouraging young enterprise and developing entrepreneurial and creative skills in schools.

In this context, it can form part of a significant revenue-generating activity.

Schools can carry out print jobs for local charities or other schools or they can allow pupils and students to produce materials that can be sold for profit, such as Christmas cards or gifts for the school fair.

Schools, colleges and study centres can also use Eduprint to produce promotional and administrative collateral such as prospectuses, banners, newsletters and standard office stationery in-house.

Each Oki printer can handle more than 200 types of media.

Pupils and teachers can use Oki's free in-the-box software utility, Template Manager.

This allows Eduprint sites to develop and generate their own customised materials for art and design work or for homework and project work.
