Colour Ink Savings Without Compromising Quality
The ability to achieve colour ink savings has been added to One Vision's Speedflow software range for printers and publishers.
Speedflow now includes new automated colour ink savings that are said to be capable of optimising and reducing the amount of CMY ink required in printing to maximise the amount of more economical black ink - without affecting image quality or appearance.
In addition to ink cost reduction, users benefit from enhanced printing quality and increased productivity, as set-up times can be reduced and fan out and web breaks can be avoided, said One Vision.
The software is claimed to be easy to install and can be used by those with limited colour management expertise.
The new ink savings feature is available within the Speedflow Basic Plus and Speedflow Suite Plus software packages .
Already included in the Speedflow software range are Speedflow Check, Speedflow Edit and Speedflow Impose.
Speedflow Check examines PDF, PostScript, TIFF and EPS files and repairs errors automatically, whilst outputting files as PDFs.
Speedflow Edit enables editing and optimising of text, images, graphics and colours in PDFs.
Speedflow Impose is One Vision's JDF-compliant imposition software for PDF files that are used in commercial, digital and web printing.
Speedflow software is claimed to automatically check, normalise and make editing and altering graphics and text within PDFs fast and simple to ensure that deadlines are met and print jobs run on time.
It is also said to be suitable for use by printers and publishers that include commercial and digital printers, corporate and institutional publishers as well as advertising agencies.
Siobhain Towell, One VIsion's vice president of marketing, said: "Printers and publishers are constantly exploring ways to cut costs and maximise resources, which is why One Vision introduced colour ink savings functions to the Speedflow products.
Now, printers and publishers can check and edit PDFs to ensure that deadlines are met and advertisements run as planned.
They can also realise substantial savings by reducing the amount of colour ink required without compromising the appearance of printed materials.".
