Gareth Roberts, managing director at Bishops Printers in Portsmouth, will be one of the key speakers at a seminar on the effective use of MIS systems at the PIRA MIS 2005 show in Birmingham (UK) - March 8-10.

It is part of a series of seminars to be conducted at the show, which are free for visitors to attend with no pre-booking required.

Attendees at the presentation, held at 10.15am on March 8 will hear Roberts, a long standing customer of Optimus, explain from his experience how to utilise management information systems to improve efficiency and enhance profits.

The company has had Optimus MIS software for 10 years, which has in turn boosted business and in the past year alone has helped increase turnover from GBP7million to GBP8.6million said Optimus.

"When we first introduced the Optimus MIS to the workplace, I wanted to add control, consistency, measurement and value to the business.

Now, with around 230 quotations a day, our Optimus 2020 system is our life blood," said Gareth Roberts.

"Everything we do goes through the Optimus 2020 MIS system, including daily estimating, order processing and production control.

In addition, it also provides us with key ratios of every area of the business, giving us an insight in to how to remain focused and profitable.

The implementation of MIS allows us to measure effectively where we are most successful, which we could not have done without Optimus 2020," he added.

Optimus will be exhibiting its new Version 18 of Optimus 2020 on stand 8 at the show.

Visitors to the exhibition will be able to see demonstrations of its new functions, including the option of complete integration with the Goldmine customer relationship management software, for which Optimus has recently been appointed the leading UK graphic arts re-seller.
