Sheet-Fed Printer Selects Optimus 2020 MIS System
Weald Print Solutions in Storrington is implementing Optimus 2020 MIS and B2B e-commerce modules to significantly improve efficiency at the site and the service it provides to customers.
Capital's operations manager Richard Graham said: "E-commerce is central to our future plans.
We can give clients access to a wide range of options, including using Optimus 2020's on-line stock and inventory management modules to control and order their point-of-sale items via the Internet.
Remote checking of PDF proofs will also be available." He added that the Optimus 2020 was a vital element of the investment programme at Capital over the last two years, the highlight of which was the company's move to its new GBP 10m, 12,500 square metres factory last summer.

Management System Handles 700 Orders A Day
Following the latest enhancement to its Optimus 2020 MIS system, customers of Paragon Group UK are placing over 700 print orders a day over the internet, cutting costs and speeding turn-around.
"The consolidation of manufacturing at one site instead of five has reaped big efficiency benefits and given the business a massive boost," he added.
Head of sales and marketing David Carey also announced that Capital had won 30 new clients in 2004, who are expected to add over GBP 3m to the company's 2004 turnover of GBP 12m.
Carey commented: "Optimus has played a vital part in the growth in our profits over recent years, since we chose this supplier for our first MIS system in 1996.
At the time, we were impressed with the system's flexibility, which we need given that we offer offset, screen and digital output.
Over the last nine years, the Optimus systems - first the Classic and now Optimus 2020 - have helped us identify more profitable work, and then win that work, made us more efficient internally and most of all improved our service to clients." And Richard Graham added: "To be profitable in today's industry, you have to work with the most up-to-date and accurate data - that's one thing that Optimus 2020 gives us.
It also enables us to engineer and keep re-engineering our business processes to squeeze every bit of efficiency out of our operations by doing things faster, and with minimal manual intervention, which means fewer errors." As examples, he cited how Optimus 2020 can use information from the client's order to automatically generate a digital job-bag and the integration of Optimus 2020's e-commerce system with Capital's purchasing management system.
