The West Sussex sheet-fed printer was purchased two years ago by managing director Ray Burn, who has since doubled the turnover by providing specialist print management and niche services.

"I worked for 16 years for a £200m print group that offered print management facilities to large corporations".

"However, clients with smaller print budgets can benefit equally from a good single source supplier".

"The problem has been the lack of smaller print companies with the necessary skill and structure to provide that service".

This is what sets Weald Print Solutions apart from many other sheet-fed printers - it is focussed on delivering the full spectrum of print and related products required by its customers, within a framework of defined objectives and cost reductions, rather than the traditional approach of focussing on work to suit its own printing equipment.

"In addition, we handle the design element for around 80 per cent of jobs, whether printed in-house or not".

"We operate comprehensive pre-press and CTP facilities, one to four-colour plus coater B3 presses and finishing equipment, and combine this with the ability to handle any other print need, regardless of size or run length".

"In particular, our customers will reap major benefits from using the B2B e-commerce modules, which provide quoting, template proofing, ordering, call-off and tracking".

"This kind of service was only available from the major players in the print management market until fairly recently and we can now provide these solutions to our clients with more modest print spends".

Weald Print Solutions has purchased virtually the entire Optimus 2020 package, from estimating and stock control through to PDF workflow and stock fulfilment.

The system will be linked to the company's existing Sage accounts package.

Implementation of the core modules will begin in September and continue over the coming months as further modules are added, with the first clients going live on the B2B e-commerce modules in October.
