As Capital Print and Display prepares for the arrival of a new sheet-fed press in May, the London (UK) large-format specialist has completed the upgrade of its management information system (MIS).
Lance O'Connell, marketing manager for Prinect and CTP, explained: "We have a policy of forming partnerships with other leading suppliers and have a good knowledge of Optimus 2020, having shown this MIS system on our Ipex stand.
This means that staff at our Brentford showroom are already familiar with the software.
One area we are keen to demonstrate is the effectiveness of the JDF link between Optimus 2020 and our presses." And he added: "The Optimus system will be used to send information to a range of equipment.
It is important that the market realises how openly JDF we are, working with third party suppliers and how comprehensive the business to production links are today." Nicola Bisset, managing director at Optimus, commented: "Heidelberg's UK showroom is obviously an extremely prestigious venue in which to demonstrate Optimus 2020 and we're looking forward to being able to take our customers to Brentford to see MIS technology in operation in a working JDF environment where printers can see modern presses at their most efficient." The installation of Optimus 2020 will be in time for Heidelberg's open house that is to be staged on November 7-9.
