It does that to ensure users make no errors, or to help them understand why things are done in a certain logical order.

Should something be amiss, Printuitive will highlight the issue and offer alternative appropriate actions.

If everything is done correctly, the user will not know that the system is is doing it, added Outsourced Projects.

The company said that the safety feature is not only useful for seasoned print professionals but is also a good teaching aide for non-print trained personnel.

It ensures that whoever does a quote, creates a job ticket, or produces an invoice, works to a standard method and therein rarely gets it wrong.

"Printuitive cannot stop every mistake but it will eliminate communication errors and ensure each department has all the correct and relevant information it needs to do the work in hand," said Stephen Matthews, managing director of Outsourced Projects.

He commented: "Just as our beta site users were instrumental in shaping the original software, our new users have also come up with some pretty nifty ideas too.

It seems that good thinking is infectious.

One such addition to Printuitive is Paperw8, an instant job weight calculator.

Paperw8 is one of those tools that everyone in the print industry needs, yet almost nobody has." Matthews explained that the act of working out the weight of a printed job has been shrouded in mystery, yet in truth it is simple.

He added: "Paperw8 allows anyone, in any size printing company, whether large or small, to accurately work out the weight of a printed job in a few seconds - ensuring that transport and courier costs are neither under-charged or over-charged ever again." Other improvements allow the user to take an instant snapshot of all the work in the company at any moment and analise its breakdown to remove such things as bought in goods and commissions paid, for instance, to arrive at true net values for sales, production and work in progress.

Printuitive is not modular, said Outsourced Projects but it is an all-in system that comes with free upgrades and no annual license fees.
