Software Handles Concept-To-Print Production
The new Truepak Studio Lite from Out of the Box is a Filemaker Pro based job asset management and management information system (MIS) in one product.
The new Truepak Studio Lite from Out of the Box is a Filemaker Pro based job asset management and management information system (MIS) in one product.
The entry level price for the system is GBP995 (excl VAT) for the database software, with upgrades available within the system to enhance the system to Truepak Pro.
Truepak SL is said to be capable of handling every concept and form of graphic arts files, together with the planning, scheduling, tracking, creation and invoicing.
The full process is handled from start to finish including quotations and invoicing said Out of the Box.
The single system is claimed to enable graphic file production companies to easily enter data in to the system with all associated graphic files attached.
Furthermore the system has the added ability to create your filing system from clients to designs, versions and sub-related folders.
The entire system does that automatically in the background with no human intervention required (an option that can be configured), added the company.
When an account handler books a design in to the system the Truepak SL engine then automatically begins creating the folder structures on the user's RAID or server systems, ready for the digital assets.
Files created through the production cycle can then be returned to the truepak SL servers to have all the information extracted and stored within the database.
The files are then automatically re-located in to the correct folders.
Clients, printers, design agencies and reprographics companies alike can all log in to the system simultaneously and monitor, review, approve and analyse the cycle of a design, project or project ranges.
Out of the Box said that design projects today invariably need passing through a multiple approval process.
The company said that Truepak SL has the process fully covered with the ability to create customised approval cycles and procedures for each design and version, then allowing appointed on-line users to download, comment and approve PDFS stored within the system.
All approval comments, processes and task appointments are monitored and acted on accordingly by the host user.
Another feature of asset management systems is to allow brand clients, access to their brand library graphics and Truepak SL system covers this area superbly with access to brand files, ranges and variances to appointed companies and users.
That is said to enable appointed users access to brand graphic libraries within the system.
The system also handles the complete order entry and production data and cycle for asset storage management.
The company claimed that designs can be entered in to the system with absolute accuracy with every aspect of a design appointed to different users, departments and events.
Furthermore, within each of the designs users can sign jobs off, approve briefs, apply and edit dates and time ranges and appoint delivery items and schedules associated with detailed price matrixes.
During all aspects of a job being created, edited, produced and approved, the system constantly updates and manages the costs for the particular project.
The system automatically in the background builds a detailed invoice and price matrix to each entity within the system, added Out of the Box.
Consumables, costings, deliveries, hours and materials used for the production of designs can all be monitored and charged for accordingly.
To manage that extent of data the company added that the system comes equipped with complete charting and analysis options, allowing for production planning, department and staff allocation and invoicing schedules to be monitored and reviewed as required from the same interface.
The system is also said to have the ability to analyse annual finances, work loads, departmental capacities and client-cost-design ratios.
It also includes optional functions for working directly with third party RIP and workflow systems, such as Artwork Systems Nexus, with Truepak SL providing job creation and workflow data via XML / JDF support.
