Tear Tape Provides Ideal Printed Promotion Tool
Tear tape manufacturer Payne said it believes that the ability of tear tape to provide effective branding and communications for short-term promotions make it an ideal message medium.
Tear Tape Collection Has Designs On Premium Brands
Increasing popularity of tear tape as a branding and communications tool has been underlined by the launch of stylish new Designer Collection from leading manufacturer Payne.
The technique involves the printing of two different messages on the tape to allow enhanced opportunities for marketing and promotional effects.
Whilst one message is visible on the surface of the tape through the transparent wrapping film, the second message on the underside of the tape is only visible when it is peeled back.
The capability to use a unique numbering system with up to 300 million numbers for the latter message has gained interest in the market for promotions where 'hidden' text is required, such as codes for interactive on-line or SMS promotions, said Payne.
The company said that tear tape is the ideal delivery system for the code because the reveal occurs as a natural consequence of opening the pack, rather than the consumer having to tear open the entire wrapper or remove the product to find the code.
One company that has already recognised the benefits of Payne's variable data tape is Wrigley's, which has employed the technology for its 'Chew and Win' and 'Closer to Music' promotional campaigns.
Payne will distribute a number of specially wrapped boxes at the Prosweets show, each with a unique code on the underside of the tear tape, to demonstrate the technology and its integration with web promotions and data capture.
Payne will be on the Pacplast stand at Prosweets 2006.
