Managing Holiday Firm's Digital Assets
From McFly and Girls Aloud to Suzi Quatro and Slade, to manage all the images needed to promote such a diverse array of holiday entertainment, Butlins has bought Media Zone.
The aim is for editorial users to achieve order and add creativity in an environment that is otherwise cluttered by new and archived information, said Picdar.
The software is said to handle any digital files and provides a range of tools to find, share, use and create content in a busy newspaper editorial office.
The new features in Version 2 include a better user interface, collaborative tools, and image management and selection facilities that build on the page and story management tools, which were core features of version one, said Picdar.
One workflow feature that the company said has generated particular interest is the ability to drag and drop images from the browser application directly in to Quark pages, incorporating full support for high resolution image replacement.
Media Mogul jSuite is a J2EE application which can be implemented on any server platform and applications server architecture, with secure networked internet or intranet access, said the company.
There is no need for client software to be installed on local machines, keeping cost of ownership down.
Picdar also demonstrated the latest version of its Media Mogul publishing workflow at Newstec.
Said Lesley Steinitz, the chief executive officer of Picdar: "Media Mogul jSuite offers publishers the means to capitalise on their assets - the massive volumes of information and content they have gathered and created.
Our innovative approach is knocking people's socks off.".
