Catalogue Publishing Improved With Software Deal

Pindar has expanded its content management functions in partnership with the Belgian developer of digital asset management software Alfaprint.
Two new browser based modules Image Share and Data Gatherer, now further extend the scope of Pindar's content management, enabling customers to access and control their product information and documents via a web browser interface from anywhere in the world claimed Pindar.
Pindar 's software products CMS and Agility and a range of outsourced content management services allow customers to take advantage of far greater catalogue publishing opportunities said the company.
So far 90 companies worldwide use the software, including PC World Business and Oriflame.
Alfaprint has been incorporated into Pindar's CMS and Agility software as new modules for Image Share and Data Gatherer.
Users can customise image Share.
Organisations with far-flung dealers, distributors and franchisees can manage their digital assets centrally, allowing improved brand control whilst providing users with simple, quick and controlled access over the web.
Authorised users can then use their chosen assets to produce collateral locally.
Data Gatherer enables volume information to be collected by a team of data gatherers who can be based across various countrywide or worldwide locations.
Collected data, which can consist of both images and text, is entered into the Data Gatherer module via the internet, where it can then be authorised for entry into a company's core content management system or ERP database.
Pindar director Paul Duggleby commented: "We are continually improving and extending the scope of our range of publishing services to meet the changing needs of our catalogue customers.
Our partnership with Alfaprint and the addition of these two new modules to our content management enables users to access proven and flexible functionality immediately and provides a demonstration of our firm commitment to our customers." Peter Howgate of Alfaprint UK said: "Our aim is to extend our European network of partners into the UK through chosen service providers, each operating within a specific end-user vertical market.
It is with great delight that this agreement with leading catalogue market specialist Pindar is the first.
We will now seek partnerships with service providers across other selected end-user markets, such as corporates in retail and FMCG, corporates in finance, packaging producers, publishing, and museums, libraries and universities for digital collections.".
