New Proofing RIP For High End Workflows
Perfectproof yesterday released a new update to its colour proofing and printing software RIP - Proofmaster v2.1.
The system, installed by Helsinki-based Prepress Center, consists of an Epson Stylus PRO 4000 A2 ink jet printer driven by the Proofmaster Folio software RIP from Perfectproof.
It includes the FOGRA/UGRA certified proof option.
To achieve press-realistic proofs, Ikea opted for the Perfectproof Newsprint Proofing Paper, an ink jet paper specifically developed for the simulation of newspaper print.
From Ikea's perspective the system enables the whole production and proofing of mainly newspaper advertisements in-house, without the need for an external service provider.
The results when proofing on the Perfectproof Newsprint Proofing Paper are very accurate and greatly help to reduce the turn-around time when producing advertisments, said Perfectproof.
The proofs can be certified to the ISO-12647-3 standard with the certify proof option.
With no optical brighteners and containing up to 40 per cent recycled fibers, the paper is also claimed to be eco-friendly.
"We feel very confident now that we are able to simulate the advertisements we produce for the newspapers with an accuracy and ease of use, which we never thought was possible.
The installation and training was very professional, and the support has been excellent," said Kimmo Ylonen from the marketing department at Ikea Finland.
Perfectproof's general manager, Mark Verbist, commented: "It is very rewarding to be able to provide this kind of system for Ikea in Finland.
We knew that there would be no room for compromise in terms of proof quality, and it has been a sheer pleasure to work together with a customer who puts quality first.".
