Perfectproof has announced the launch of a paper designed to produce press-realistic proofs for newspaper advertisements and editorials.

Perfectproof has announced the launch of a paper designed to produce press-realistic proofs for newspaper advertisements and editorials.

The Newsprint Proofing Paper is claimed to provide a newspaper a fast and accurate way to run inkjet proofs according to the ISO 12647-3 (IFRA) standard.

Perfectproof said that the new 65g paper has the look and feel of newspaper stock without the need for paper colour simulation and is compatible with dye and pigment ink jet printers from Epson, HP, Canon and other main vendors.

The company said that a number of customers have already successfully adopted the Newsprint proofing paper.

Benoit Lesgardeur, product manager for consumables at Perfectproof Europe, said: "It is now easy for advertising agencies or internal marketing departments to quickly produce affordable newspaper proofs of their campaigns.

Consisting of up to 40 per cent recycled fibres and without the use of any optical brighteners, the new paper also offers an eco-friendly choice." Kimmo Ylonen of Ikea Finland, commented: "We are now able to simulate the newspaper advertisements with an accuracy and ease of use, which we never thought was possible." And Steven Roesbeke from advertisign agency McCann-Erickson Belgium, added: "Proofmaster and the newsprint paper have allowed us to create reliable colour proofs at a fraction of the original time and cost to the satisfaction of both clients and suppliers." The Newsprint proofing paper is available in A3 sheets and on 17" and 242 rolls.
