Presstek has signed a new OEM consumable supply agreement with Heidelberg USA to continue to provide Heidelberg branded consumable plate products for the Heidelberg Quickmaster DI 46-4 press.

Heidelberg will continue to market the Presstek manufactured consumables under the brand name Saphira Quickplate 46.

The agreement establishes the Presstek manufactured Saphira Quickplate 46 as Heidelberg's preferred plate product for the QM DI 46.

Presstek's vice president of marketing and commercial operations, Peter Bouchard, said: "Recent surveys have shown that the print market in the USA is strengthening, whilst at the same time changing.

The needs of print buyers have shifted to colour, shorter print runs, higher quality and faster turnaround.

The QM DI 46 press is extremely well positioned to provide printers with the ability to meet the demanding needs of today's graphic artists and print buyers." Presstek president and chief executive officer Edward J.

Marino said: "Heidelberg has long been a close partner of Presstek.

The QMDI 46 press established the DI print segment and set the standard for high quality, fast, four colour printing.

We are very happy to continue to supply Heidelberg with its preferred plate product for the Quickmaster DI press.

Our proven DI plate products provide the reliability and high quality demanded by today's printers.

We look forward to working closely with Heidelberg to continue to build this market.".
