Presstek Confirms Appointment of Argos In France

Presstek has confirmed the ongoing appointment of Argos as the primary distributor of Presstek systems in France.

Presstek, a leading provider of direct digital imaging technologies to the printing and publishing industry, has confirmed the ongoing appointment of Argos as the primary distributor of Presstek systems in France.

The Argos group has been distributing Presstek products for over three years now.

This announcement marks a mutual decision to reinforce the partnership between the two firms and to further expand distribution efforts of Presstek's chemistry-free CtP plates in the French-speaking markets served by Argos.

"Argos was the first importer of Presstek products in France," stated Yves Storms, regional sales manager, Presstek France.

"We recognise the solid expertise that Argos has acquired over the years, acting as a distribution channel for pre-press systems, offset presses, and consumables".

Jean-Charles Theron, general manager of Argos Nord, confirmed: "Several years ago, we recognised that chemistry-free CtP technology was a product of the future which would play a defining role in the prepress process".

Argos reports that the chemistry-free CtP plates are attracting considerable attention from printers working in two-up and four-up impositions and repro shops.

During the last trimester of 2005, Presstek and Argos will jointly organise a road show in five major French cities (Lille, Clermont-Ferrand, Marseille, Rennes, and Paris) to present new modules and the new Excel technologies, as well as the Ryobi DI, which is equipped with the gravure printing heads.
