Presstek has completed the consolidation of its Niles, Illinois (USA) operational functions of A B Dick.

Presstek has completed the consolidation of its Niles, Illinois (USA) operational functions of A B Dick.

The Niles consolidation included the successful relocation of A B Dick's back-office and administrative operations to Presstek's Hudson, New Hampshire headquarters, as well as the relocation of streamlined inside sales and customer service operations to Presstek's new call centre in Des Plaines, Illinois and the closure of the Niles facility.

"Designed to strengthen Presstek's organisational efficiency and reduce operational costs, the company expects to save approximately US$1.5 million annually as a result of the Niles consolidation," said Moosa E Moosa, Presstek's executive vice president and chief financial officer.

"This step follows closely behind the consolidation of A B Dick's Rochester, New York facility in to Presstek's headquarters.

The combined integration efforts since the acquisition of A B Dick are on track to achieve annualised cost savings of approximately US$8.5 million by the second half of 2006," he added.

Moosa continued: "We continue to be pleased with the progress of our integration efforts and remain committed to optimising operational efficiencies throughout our organisation, as well as delivering better service to our customers and increased value to our shareholders." The Niles consolidation did not effect the A B Dick warehouse operation in Des Plaines, Illinois or other Presstek and A B Dick staff located in regional offices in North America, Europe and other worldwide locations.
