A Presstek Inc product story
Edited by the Printingtalk editorial team Feb 17, 2006

Presstek has opened its new European business centre.

Presstek has opened its new European business centre.

The operation, which will serve as the central base of European operations, was established to support the anticipated growth and meet the needs of Presstek's expanding customer base across the region.

The European business centre will provide a strategic location for Presstek's sales, marketing, technical and logistical activities, with multilingual support in a more customer-friendly GMT time zone, believes the company.

Presstek said that with this announcement, all sales, service and operational functions have now been fully integrated in Europe.

The facility will provide Europe with support for the company's distribution and direct sales operation, as well as provide service and assistance to European customers and partners.

It includes a demonstration facility and technical assistance centre.

Training on Presstek's DI and CTP line of products is available, as well as a dedicated multilingual support team to respond to customers and marketing partners in their respective languages.

Edward J Marino, Presstek's president and chief executive officer, said: "The European marketplace is a great opportunity for Presstek.

Our environmentally friendly, highly productive, and state-of-the-art digital imaging products are well suited to the needs of European customers.

Establishing this European business centre fits with our strategy to help our customers meet and exceed their business goals." Quen Baum, the mnaging director for Presstek Europe, added: "The new business centre allows us to provide an enhanced level of sales and technical support to our European customers.

We will also be able to increase the level of first-line assistance to distributors and partners for both our DI press and chemistry-free CTP lines of business.

Our organisation is coming together and I believe 2006 will be an excellent year for Presstek Europe." Sited near Heathrow Airport in West Drayton (UK) the company's European business centre will provide a foundation for the anticipated growth in sales across the region, believes the company.

Ray Hillhouse, formerly the managing director of A B Dick UK, has been named European director of sales and marketing and he will be responsible for all direct and indirect selling activities.

Hillhouse will focus on expanding pan-European sales operations with regional sales managers supporting dedicated Presstek distributors.

The European Technical Support Centre will be headed up by John Bracher, who has been appointed to the position of customer support and training manager for Presstek Europe.

In the role he will also be responsible for training.

The Presstek Europe operation was formed in March 2005 and now has a staff of 90 in place, with more to be added in key areas, such as customer support.

Technical support for Europe is now centralised and accessible to the company's network of dealers and distributors throughout Europe, added the company.

The facility also serves as a central dispatch centre for Presstek systems and spare parts.
