Presstek has appointed Klaus Schleicher as director of international business development.

Presstek has appointed Klaus Schleicher as director of international business development.

Schleicher will lead the company's efforts to expand its presence worldwide.

Most recently, Schleicher was director of sales and engineering at Consul Risk Management, a security software consulting firm.

There he was responsible for strategic business and product development, successfully raising venture capital for the company's product development.

In that role, Schleicher was also responsible for the sales, marketing and customer support operations of the company.

Previously, Schleicher was the director of product management for intelligent interface solutions at Lernout and Hauspie Speech Products, where he successfully led a US$120 million global division to find new markets and applications for existing and future technology.

He has also held various senior marketing and product management positions at Bayer Corp., AGFA Gevaert and Honeywell.

Schleicher holds a masters of science degree in computer science and a bachelor's of science degree in engineering and electronics from the Technical University of Giessen in Germany.

Edward J Marino, Presstek's president and chief executive officer, said: "We are very pleased to have attracted someone of Klaus's calibre to head up our worldwide expansion efforts.
