Presstek's DI Equipped Presses To Fore At Drupa
Presstek manufacturer and marketer of digital imaging systems is showcasing its array of Profire enabled DI presses at Drupa 2004.
The Presstek 52DI press, which debuted at Ipex last April, is a landscape format 52cm direct imaging press that has a claimed maximum speed of 20,000 A4 pages per hour.
The 52DI is said to simultaneously image all four plates in precise register on-press.
The result is fast make-readies, printing up to 300 lines per inch (lpi) with support for FM screening, capability to print on a range of substrates up to 0.5mm thick and a more productive and profitable workflow, said Presstek.
Presstek's 34DI-X is a two-page, four-colour, 34cm portrait format, DI press that produces 14,000 A4 sheets per hour, said the company.
The automated press provides fast make-readies and supports line screens up to 300lpi and FM printing.
Like the 52DI all four plates are simultaneously imaged on press in perfect register.
The Dimension Excel Series of CTP systems is said to provide the reliability, versatility, speed and quality that printers, especially mid-size and smaller shops, require from the CTP investment.
Dimension Excel platesetters are available in two-page and four-page formats that can be configured as a standard (Dimension 225 and 425) or as a high production (Dimension 250 and 450) platemaker.
Presstek added that each has an extremely small footprint and is optimised to work with Presstek chemistry-free Anthem Pro plates.
The Presstek Vector TX52 with Freedom plates is a chemistry-free platesetter that is claimed to provide the small format (52cm and under) printer with an affordable metal platemaking system for higher productivity, cleaner operation and lower production costs.
After imaging, Freedom plates are automatically cleaned with water in the Vector TX52's integrated plate washer.
Presstek added that Freedom plates require no baking, special cleaning fluids, or gumming, resulting in greater press performance, as well as less waste material and a more environmentally friendly print shop.
The plates are said to be suitable for high-quality, short-run printing with run lengths up to 25,000.
