In Hall 5, stand 38, Presstek will feature its DI digital offset presses.

Presstek 52DI and Presstek 34DI are said to be specifically designed for printers seeking a faster way to profitably print short-run colour work.

At the show, the following digital offset printing systems that will be featured will include Presstek's 52DI digital offset press, which is claimed to operate at a maximum speed of 10,000 B3 pages an hour.

The 34DI digital offset press is a two-page, four-colour, 34cm portrait format digital offset press, which is said to produce 7,000 A3 sheets per hour.

Presstek said its DI presses offer traditional offset and digital printers the most profitable system for meeting the demand for quick turn-around, short-run high quality colour printing.

The automated sheetfed presses are claimed to combine the efficiency of an all-digital workflow with the versatility and quality of a conventional offset press.

The company said that DI users define run lengths of 250 to 10,000 impressions as the 'sweet spot' for the press, according to an Infotrends market study.

Printers can maximise the cost efficiencies of the press for a competitive advantage in the expanding short-run colour market.

The DI's time claimed saving features and the faster drying time of waterless ink enable the fast turn-around of high quality print jobs, including same day service.

Computer file to sellable sheet is achieved in 10 minutes and the press comes up to colour in 20 sheets.

Presstek also claimed that the DI presses' design, digital imaging capabilities and range of automated functions support up to 300 lines per inch (lpi) and FM screening without incurring additional expense or time, and they print on substrates from 0.06mm to 0.5mm thick.

The waterless press design is also said to eliminate ink and water balance issues and it produces luminous colour consistently sheet-to-sheet and job-to-job.
