New RIPs Allow Kall Kwik's Large Format Output

Adare group, owners of the UK's Kall Kwik franchises, tried and tested several RIPs before making its choice to use the Posterjet RIP with Canon and HP printers.

Selected Kall Kwik centres are using the RIP and printers amongst their range of print production facilities, including wide format printing.

London-based large format print reseller, Perfect Colours provided the systems so that Kall Kwik can output large format prints on a choice of substrates including canvas, vinyl and backlit media.

Kall Kwik, which serves a variety of markets including retail, leisure and the motor industries, needed a cost-effective RIP system that could support a number of large format print devices.

David Johnson, digital consultant at the Adare Group, Kall Kwik's owners, explained: "Large format print brings us in to a vibrant and exciting market.

It helps our Kall Kwik Centres offer a complete one-stop shop for their clients marketing communications." Following tests of a number of RIPs including Shiraz, Caldera and Onyx, Kall Kwik finally chose Posterjet as its front end.

Johnson added: "Posterjet offered us a solution that was cross-platform, did everything we needed it to do - the ability to nest images, scatterproof, import colour profiles and queuing, for instance.

Most importantly, because of its speed and simultaneous print and process features, it freed up the design workstation quickly.

It was also the most cost-effective system around for our needs." Available now in standard and specialised editions the latest version is claimed to provide enhanced capabilities to improve colour matching, increase productivity and add more project flexibility.

In addition, Posterjet is said to support more than 200 graphics file formats, enabling flexibility when processing business or creative print projects.

Complete media profiles are provided free with Posterjet 7 and are certified to ensure exact colour reproduction on every media tested, added the company.
