New Event Manager For Digital Show
IIR Exhibitions has appointed Richard Gayle as Event Manager of its London showcase print event, Digital Print World (DPW) 2004.
The advisory committee is central to FHG's goal to produce a show by the industry, for the industry, added the company.
The meeting brought together industry suppliers, associations and printers themselves to get a rounded picture of what the industry demands from a print exhibition.
Action points, suggestions and ideas were taken from the meeting and have been incorporated in to the FHG's planning for the event, said Faversham House.
The Advisory Committee comprises Dave Ryan of Consort Printing Machinery; William Condron from Printing and Graphic Equipment; Gerry McGivern of the Miller Group; Cormac Kennedy of Xerox; Pat O'Shea from HP Indigo; Canon's Greg Wilson; Brian Crawford from Reprocentre and Ian Murphy of Portman Graphics, all representing the suppliers.
Anne Cooke of Fine Print; John Harold of Colourbooks and Gerry Andrews from DC Kavanagh Ebrook represent printers and potential visitors.
Dave Ryan of Consort Printing machinery spoke after the meeting: "It was a great success.
It was refreshing to see an exhibition organiser taking the time to canvas the views from across the industry.
There was a real sense of excitement about the event and I'm looking forward with great anticipation because I think the Irish printing industry will welcome such an all-encompassing exhibition." Exhibition director, Catherine Iredale, explained FHG's visitor focussed ethos: "It is vital to the success of the show that we consult widely with all stakeholders to gain a clear picture of what the industry wants to see.
The advisory committee provided vital insight and information but I would encourage printers to tell us what they want to see so we can ensure the show fully meets their needs." FHG said that Print Ireland will offer printers a forum where they can see demonstrations of presses and equipment from top manufacturers, not just in Ireland but from the wider world of print.
There will be a free features programme, including sessions focussing on industry hot topics combined with practical software workshops.
More details regarding the programme will be unveiled over coming months.
The Print Ireland website has full information about the show, including who has booked to date and the features programme information as it takes shape.
