The former sales and marketing director of Cradley Print has founded a new company specialising in sales training for the UK printing industry.

The former sales and marketing director of Cradley Print has founded a new company specialising in sales training for the UK printing industry.

PGP Solutions was formed at the end of 2006 with the aim of improving sales skills in the printing industry and to create a better understanding of print to UK customers through continuing consultancy and training courses, said the company's managing director, Phil Glossop.

Glossop believes that having worked in the printing industry for the last 15 years he has spotted an opportunity to offer targeted training and development to a printer's sales team.

He commented: "Sales staff are an expensive part of a printers wage bill and all to often they are not given the opportunity to grow their sales as they should, due to lack of time available by their senior team.

The trouble is the sales director that runs the team has his or her own targets to meet, which means less time can be committed to the development of the sales people below them." Glossop added that he thinks people will be surprised how cost effective sales training will be.

He added: "When you look at the fact that these guys are trying to hit targets of GBP2 million and over per year, a small investment in our services can reap huge benefits! The courses can last from a one day introduction to a monthly continuing development package.".
