To realise low energy and service costs with a new Arkle Print has installed a PIAB Vacuum and Blow System (PVBS).
Suction Cups Solve Paper Feeding System Downtime
New suction cups fitted to a Muller Martini feeding machine have eliminated repeated loss of production time at print finisher Bertex Mail in Helsingborg (Sweden).
Brofasud said it saw the development as a chance to offer its customers additional services, whilst improving upon its productivity and environmental friendliness.
It was important that Brofasud found a reliable, high performing and low-maintenance vacuum system for its magazine binding process.
Thierry Jean-Baptiste, chief executive officer and head of development and investments at Brofasud, said:"Due to the nature of our business we cannot have any breakdowns or delays.
The company worked with PIAB to upgrade our existing thermal vacuum equipment with new P6010 vacuum pumps.
Quick installation was necessary so that production could continue uninterrupted." He added: "The speed at which the new system was put in to action, along with PIAB's capacity to adapt to our needs, was exactly what we were looking for in a partner." In using a single compressed air network to drive the vacuum pumps, Brofasud has found PIAB's vacuum solution to be quite flexible and cost-effective, said the company.
Jean-Baptiste explained: "We were particularly impressed with the level of innovation with the application of the venturi system.
The absence of a separate vacuum distribution network from a central source has greatly improved our overall efficiency." Because the new pumps require almost no maintenance, Brofasud said it has been able to allocate more resources to satisfying customers.
"Lowered maintenance costs, along with reduced machine downtime, have allowed us to offer a more dependable magazine binding process for our customers," said Jean-Baptiste.
"PIAB's technology is also environmentally friendly, releasing no pollutants in the treatment of condensates and used oil.".
