Sheffield (UK) digital print firm Pinders has invested GBP300,000 in two new print and finishing machines that have been imported from the USA and Norway.

The combination of equipment will now allow Pinders to produce print work across a spectrum of promotional and marketing initiatives from personal work to advertising billboards and building wraps.

The company said that the machines are central to its expansion plans and job creation programme and attracted funding from Yorkshire Forward and Sheffield First For Investment.

David Whiteway, joint managing director of Pinders, said: "The acquisition of these machines further establishes Pinders as one of the region's largest, most innovative and progressive digital printers.

Having these machines not only places us at the forefront of technology in large digital and bespoke finishing, but offers Pinders customers impressive options for their creative ideas, whether for one-offs or volume work." He added: "As well as substantially boosting our high end digital print capacity we have widened the scope for more creative, specially commissioned work, which in turn increases our potential customer base." The Vutek superwide format digital printing press will allow Pinders to produce full colour, finished, weatherproof graphics directly on to virtually any surface, it believes, up to two metres wide for projects including photographic backdrops, vinyl banners, packaging, display boards, construction industry boards and point of sale material.

The new six-metre square specialist Esko cutting table means prints can be cut, routed, perforated or creased in to any shape, added the company.

Alan Lyons, the investor development manager for Sheffield First for Investment, said: "We were pleased to be able to contribute to Pinders securing funds for expansion and job creation within the city.

Pinders' investment in the latest technological advances proves their continued commitment to Sheffield.".
