PIA/GATF's Digital Printing Council (DPC) has made available the latest set of reports from its Marketing 4 Digital (M4D) research project.

PIA/GATF's Digital Printing Council (DPC) has made available the latest set of reports from its Marketing 4 Digital (M4D) research project.

The latest set of reports is the third in the M4D series giving digital and conventional printers the information and insight they need to sell their services to specific vertical market segments, said PIA/GATF.

The third set brings the number of vertical segments covered so far to 24.

The newest set of reports focuses on wholesale and retail food services, associations, higher education and training, publishing (books, magazines and newspapers), sports and entertainment, pharmaceutical (drug manufacturers) and fund raising.

PIA/GATF president, Michael Makin, said: "M4D research is one of the most powerful and practical tools available as part of the DPC and PIA/GATF programmes.

What started out as an ambitious project has surpassed its promise, providing significant and applicable information to help printers succeed." Julie Shaffer, DPC's director, explained: "Our members are telling us that the M4D reports are making a real difference.

M4D is helping them to reinforce existing strategies, as well as developing new marketing pitches and programmes to reach customers, which is in-line with our core mission to help our members in building profitable digital businesses." The organisation said that each report describes a specific industry, its trends, major companies, marketing budget, industry-specific terminology, print requirements and purchases, including digital printing opportunities.

M4D is claimed to help sales staff apply the internal language and terms of customers in different sectors, and it will give them an understanding of each segment's respective environments and requirements.

All Digital Printing Council premier-level members receive the complete, initial series of 24 reports as a benefit of membership.

In addition, the studies are available for purchase through the PIA/GATF bookstore.

Packages of eight reports each are priced at US$199 per set for PIA/GATF members, and US$500 per set for non-PIA/GATF members.

The 24-part series can be bought for US$499 by members, or US$1,200 for non- members through the PIA/GATF book store.
