Book Reveals Secrets Of Digital Files
For Print
PIA/GATF's 'Mission:Possible - A Mutual Strategy for Creatives and Printers' seminar can gain access to the session's advice in the related book, 'Secrets Revealed'.
The organisation commented that printing jobs are often delayed due to files that cannot be output as the customer delivers them to the printer Those file problems can lead to cost over-runs and additional rounds of proofing, which push back schedules for both parties and, in the end, create possible customer dissatisfaction with the final product

Conference Helps Firms Adopt Variable Data Print
PIA/GATF's Variable Data and Personalisation Conference from November 4 - 6 in Phoenix, Arizona (USA) will feature an expanded array of topics.
However, according to PIA/GATF, those problems can be avoided.
Tracey Ryan, PIA/GATF's art director and seminar co-instructor, explained: "These are the issues that designers are eager to know about and printers may be unsure of what they should supply - whether it be settings or feedback.
This programme brings these two groups together and helps open the lines of communication." Secrets Revealed's 142 pages are said to contain practical information that puts creatives and printers on the same page, she added.
Whether offering tips on the treatment of digital images, the creation of PDF files, or providing consistent colour, Secrets Revealed does so in a manner that is accessible with effective graphics and examples.
The book is claimed to help printers and designers to better collaborate on such issues as the design considerations for print, digital image files, creating PDFs, colour appreciation, pre-flighting, the proofing process and press checks.
