A PIA/GATF product story
Edited by the Printingtalk editorial team Mar 3, 2009

The Job Definition Format (JDF) User Group meeting's open discussion will be moderated by Dr Rainer Prosi, the chief technical officer of the CIP4 Organisation.

The JDF User Group, an open forum for users and vendors of JDF-enabled systems, will hold the meeting in St Louis Park in the US on 25-26 March.

Delgates will have the opportunity to discuss technical aspects of the JDF specification with Prosi, according to PAI/GATF.

Prosi will also be able to answer questions concerning workflow systems, implementation queries and potential applications.

He will also provide feedback regarding the technical workings of the specification.

During the JDF User Group meeting, Prosi will talk about specific challenges facing delegates during their implementation processes.

Comments given during the meeting are intended to help shape the development of the specification and build upon earlier JDF User Group meetings.

Prosi, who has been employed as a senior workflow architect at Heidelberg since 1998, received his PhD in physics from the University of Kiel, Germany, in 1992.

He has been involved with the JDF project from its early phases in 1999 and is one of the primary authors of the JDF specification and the Interoperability Conformance Specifications (ICS) that are related to JDF.

Before that, he worked on variable-data workflow and PDF optimisation.

He is currently working on a number of workflow- and JDF-related projects within Heidelberg.

His CIP4 duties include coordinating the technical development efforts related to JDF and Printtalk, as well as ICS documents.
