Pitney Bowes has appointed Ian Makepeace as vice president of sales international for Pitney Bowes Management Services (PBMS).

Makepeace is responsible for setting the strategic direction of the sales operation and its management focusing on the UK and Europe.

He joined Pitney Bowes in 1995 and has held a number of senior management positions within the Europe Africa Middle East division.

He was previously for vice president of Pitney Bowes Enterprise Relationship Development, EAME.

Prior to joining Pitney Bowes, Makepeace spent most of his business career in the computer industry where he held senior sales, marketing and management positions in companies such as NCR, Unisys and Wang Labs.

Makepeace commented: "Pitney Bowes is a communications company, and in today's business climate the ability to communicate efficiently and effectively with customers has never been more important.

Customers want the choice of whether to invest in-house or to outsource their customer communications management.

The broader Pitney Bowes portfolio of products and services offers true choice to build an in-house facility, or outsource entirely, or indeed obtain a combination of the two.".
