Direct Mail Inserters' Ease Of Operation
Pitney Bowes, the mail and messaging specialist, has launched the Fastpac Inserting System DI900 and DI950, designed to maximise the impact of mail communications.
The certification applies to PBMS' head office functions in Hemel Hempstead, which is responsible for designing systems and providing administrative and operational support for the services provided to its customers.
PBMS joins 185 organisations in the UK that have achieved the standard.
The BS 7799: 2002 standard is applicable to any organisation that wishes to provide management direction and support for information security, manage information security within an organization and reduce the risks of human error, theft, fraud or misuse of facilities.
The standard also acknowledges the prevention of unauthorised access, damage and interference to business premises and information, whilst ensuring compliance with security regulations.
It recognises a company's precautions to counteract interruptions to business activities and to protect critical business processes from the effects of major failures or disasters.
Ashley Bailey, the managing director of Pitney Bowes Management Services, said: "Information is a significant asset to any organisation and needs to be securely identified and managed.
That is becoming ever more important with increasing regulation, such as the Freedom of Information Act which came into force in January.
By working with the standards team and meeting guidelines we are now able to prove that we have a robust integrated information management service in place.
As an outsourced provider, such certification not only helps to reassure those businesses working with us but also enables us to provide critical first-hand advice to any clients looking to tighten their own information management policies.".
