Mailstream systems company Pitney Bowes has appointed Ernst Hoestra as vice president of postal solutions, international.

Hoestra has joined Pitney Bowes from TNT, where he spent 11 years progressing to his most recent position as global industry director for Postal TNT Express.

During his time with TNT, his responsibilities included the development of strategic partnerships with postal companies, including joint ventures in Chile and Japan.

Most recently, he had global responsibility for the TNT Postal accounts portfolio.

He commented: "This is an exciting time to be joining Pitney Bowes.

With growing competition in the postal market postal operations are under increasing pressure to demonstrate the value of their services by offering more efficient and reliable communications channels delivered at a reduced cost.

We will work with major players to drive mailstream growth, customer loyalty and cost-efficiencies." Hoestra has a degree in law from the Erasmus University in Rotterdam (The Netherlands) and was certified in financial management at the University of Amsterdam.
