A centre designed to present direct mail production technology in a realistic environment is claimed to have been a success by Pitney Bowes after six months in operation.

Pitney Bowes' International Technology Centre (ITC) opened in Whetstone near Leicester (UK) in April and with 650 square metres of space, the ITC provides training facilities that can be utilised by Pitney Bowes' employees and also anyone operating Pitney Bowes systems New customers can be trained at the centre whilst existing customers can be introduced to new technologies and innovations

The latest DMT mail stream system on display in the ITC include the FPS (Flexible Productivity Series), APS (Advanced Productivity Series) and Comet inserting systems, Olympus Multi Tier Sorter, Product Attaching System and EFS (Envelope Finishing System).

Those systems can be networked to a fully-functioning ADF (Automated Document Factory) to demonstrate document creation, preparation, processing, despatch and closed loop reprinting.

Also on display are the DM1000 digital mailing system, the DI200, DI425 and DI950 inserting systems, the DA75s addressing printer and Addressright Pro mailing software, as well as Arrival, Lobbytrac and GSA package tracking and delivery management systems.

David Jefferies, Pitney Bowes' marketing director, commented: "We all know that hands-on training produces the best results.

This innovative space provides an excellent arena for our staff to demonstrate the efficiencies and cost-saving opportunities afforded by our systems.

We can also replicate real mailing scenarios to enable customers and prospects to identify best-fit technologies for their applications.".
