Picon's chief executive John Brazier has been appointed director of the Paper Industry Technical Association (PITA)

Picon's chief executive John Brazier has been appointed a director and trustee of the Paper Industry Technical Association (PITA), further strengthening the links between the two association.

PITA, which recently attained charitable status, is an independent association that provides a forum for the exchange of information for the benefit of its members in the pulp, paper and converting sectors.

The association offers a range of publications including an annual yearbook, information handbooks and its own magazine - Paper Technology.

It also disseminates technical information at its district meetings, working groups, seminars, and conferences.

John Brazier will have an advisory role in support of PITA's publications policy.

He said: "PITA is an extremely good information resource for its members and the industry and I look forward to contributing to this resource." PITA's publishing director, John Clewley, commented on Brazier's appointment: "John's experience at Picon, not to mention his earlier involvement in publishing will add strength to the PITA board.

John has already made many valuable contributions as a member of the PITA council and we look forward to working with him more closely.".
