Picon has appointed Paul Evans as business development manager.

Picon has appointed Paul Evans as business development manager with specific responsibility for the association's export and event schedule and for the further expansion of its commercial and marketing support services.

The role encompasses responsibility for the management of Picon's overseas trade programme including liaison with government agencies; organisation of trade missions; and Picon's attendance at worldwide exhibitions and events.

In addition, Paul will be responsible for maintaining and developing information services for members including statistical surveys.

Evans, who joined the Picon Executive in November 2003, has spent 15 years in senior international marketing and marketing communications roles at Howson-Algraphy, Crosfield Electronics, Pitney Bowes and Scitex and most recently as director of sales and marketing with a multimedia production company.

Commenting on his new role, Paul Evans said: "I'm very excited by the broad scope and challenge of the role.

It is a unique position in so many ways and will allow me to take advantage of my own skill set and experience.

The Picon Executive has a clear objective to support the industry and provide a superlative service to members and I look forward to playing a part.".
