Picon Growth Continues As MIS Specialist Joins

MIS supplier Optimus has become the latest company to join Picon, bringing the number of new members to 15 in the last six months alone said the UK trade organisation.

MIS supplier Optimus has become the latest company to join Picon, bringing the number of new members to 15 in the last six months alone said the UK trade organisation.

Optimus has customers in sectors ranging from commercial sheet-fed and web offset to direct mail, digital printing, flexo and screen.

"It's encouraging to start 2005 with such a major supplier to the MIS market joining our association.

We had a very successful 2004 in terms of new members and this is a good start to this year.

Optimus is an extremely well established software supplier and one of the key players in driving forward the implementation of JDF within MIS.

They're a very welcome addition to Picon," said John Brazier, the organisation's chief executive.

Optimus's managing director Nicola Bisset added: "We have obviously known of Picon for many years and have watched with interest how it has developed and grown in more recent times.

Companies involved in the printing industry have changed not just in terms of technology but also in their approach to each other.

Businesses that were competitors in the past now work closely on projects to help the industry as a whole set standards and move forward.

We already have working relationships with many Picon members and we're looking forward to meeting the others.

Picon is an important association for the industry and one that is playing an increasingly relevant role.".
