Canon UK has joined Picon, the UK printing industry body that represents members' interests through contact with Government departments, the EU, commercial consulates overseas and other organisations.

Canon UK has joined Picon, the UK printing industry body that represents members' interests through contact with Government departments, the EU, commercial consulates overseas and other organisations.

Andy Vickers, Canon UK's managing director, commented: "We're delighted to sign up to Picon and it's yet another strong message that we are 100 per cent committed to this market.

At Ipex, we're launching a fleet of 20 new products, including the Imagepress technologies to demonstrate our ever growing presence in the print industry." John Brazier, chief executive of Picon, added: "I am delighted to welcome Canon in to membership as we continue to respond to the exciting developments taking place in our industry going forward.

Canon's involvement in professional print is gaining considerable momentum and they will add great value to our continuing work in this sector." Canon is already a supporter of PrintIT!, the industry-wide educational initiative aimed to attract youth in to the industry in addition to a number of apprenticeship training initiatives along with Canon's own Business Builder programme.
