Plastiscene won a highly commended honour at the 2006 Printing World Awards for the best use of printing on non-paper products.

The award recognised Plastiscene's success with the 'Bottled Atmosphere' project, which involved printing MetalFX on to clear plastic, with a selection of eight metallic packaging ranges, all printed on one sheet, with one pass of the press.

According to the company, the packaging is said to demonstrate high quality litho printing on to clear plastic and contains HoloFX images in the metallic areas and crisp icons in the four-colour areas.

Jennifer Deacon, group marketing manager at Plastiscene, commented: "Printing on innovative materials is what we do best, so we were very pleased to be commended in this area.".
