MIS and press management software ordered

Press management system installed by on-line directory publisher

US-based Print and on-line directory publisher Verizon Information Services has placed an order with Prism USA for an integrated Prism WIN management information system and Prism QTMS press management system.

The QTMS system will be installed on all web presses, sheet fed presses and bindery lines across both of the printing facilities in Los Angeles and Des Plaines.

There will be approximately 150 concurrent users on the Prism WIN system, with a central server located at the Dallas/Fort Worth headquarters.

VIS' goal in implementing a fully integrated system is to bring the entire production, scheduling, planning and data collection activities together under one umbrella with a robust, open database.

Commenting on the order, Chris Johnson, managing director of the Prism Group of Companies (pictured) said: "This is an exciting relationship for the Prism Group and for Prism USA especially.

The final order represents almost a year of hard work and due diligence activity on the part of both Prism and Verizon.

We expect this to be a smooth and expeditious implementation.".
