Progressive Color Media LLC, Flint Ink's recently launched provider of workflow colour management software that integrates hardware, software and services, has now formed its executive team.

Progressive Color Media LLC, Flint Ink's recently launched provider of workflow colour management software that integrates hardware, software and services, has now formed its executive team.

Led by Diane Watt, former vice president of Flint Ink's emerging business segments group and new president of Progressive Color Media, the team includes Daniel Goodenow, director of sales and services, Fay Sommers, director of product development, Tony Ricketts, senior field service specialist, and Albert Johnson, senior sales specialist.

"The team has extensive knowledge and experience from pre-press and pressroom.

Coupled with Flint Ink's resources, our management team is committed to helping companies achieve efficient colour managed workflows that will give them a sustainable competitive advantage in the marketplace," said Watt.

Diane Watt was previously responsible for directing the evaluation and commercialisation of new business opportunities outside of traditional ink segments and processes at Flint Ink.

Watt has also held several other management positions at Flint.

Before joining Flint in 1999, Watt worked as a management consultant in the healthcare industry, specialising in market opportunity analyses and strategic planning for multi-million-dollar health systems, while affiliated with Chi Laboratory Systems and Cyto Diagnostics.

She holds a B A in Microbiology from Miami University (Oxford, Ohio), and an M B A in Marketing and Business Policy from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.

Daniel Goodenow is responsible for developing and managing the company and colour management consulting services.

He brings 10 years of experience in the electronic imaging and printing industries.

Prior to joining Progressive Color Media, he was the branch manager of Enovation Graphic Systems, where he had full responsibility for the $17 million graphic arts distribution business.

He also has six years of experience with Precision Colour, a pre-press company, where he was vice president of operations for the company's Las Vegas large format facility.

Goodenow holds a B.S.

in Engineering from Michigan State University and an M S in Printing Management and Sciences from Rochester Institute of Technology.

Fay Sommer is charged with strategic planning, directing product development efforts and establishing services for new technology.

Sommer has an extensive background in research and development, with expertise in the areas of digital imaging, pre-press and print optimisation.

Since joining Flint Ink in 1986, Sommer has conducted research, established and coordinated technical service programmes, developed new products and initiated training programs.

She holds a B S in Physics from Eastern Michigan University.

Tony Ricketts is responsible for conducting baseline assessments to determine the state of customers' colour workflows.

He has 12 years of experience serving in various management positions at Nielsen, including prepress systems manager and prepress technical director.

Ricketts has served on the advisory board for the Digital Workflow Group of the PIA/GATF from 2000 to 2004.

He was a member of the Litho Club for 14 years, and is a frequent speaker at conferences, including Vue Point and GATF Tech Alert.

He holds an Associates of Science degree in printing technology from Vincennes University.

Albert Johnson has 17 years' experience in the graphic arts industry.

Before joining to Progressive Color Media, Johnson was responsible for North American technical sales for the graphics division of EFI.

He joined EFI as a result of the acquisition of Best Color by EFI in 2003.

Johnson was the North and South American technical services manager at Best Colour, a developer of software RIPS for inkjet proofing.

Prior to Best Color, he was the national electronics support specialist at Pitman Company.

He has certifications from AGFA, Art Work Systems, HP and other prepress manufacturers.
