Proimage has installed its Newsway Lite workflow software at the Tyler Morning Telegraph in Texas (USA), a T B Butler Publishing Company subsidiary Eric Gilmour, Tyler Morning Telegraph's Ad Graphics Manager, said: "Speed, speed and more speed is essential and no other system can compare to the speed and ease-of-use of Newsway

We used another workflow system for more than a year, but Newsway's flexibility and proven reliability made the change necessary and very worthwhile." He added: "We now have the ability to add fan-out and creep to our plates and have both a tabloid and broadsheet configuration in the same product.

By embedding and load balancing the RIPs within the workflow we are able to maximise throughput and save valuable time.

We used to have to print separations out of Quark - now we send composite files to Proimage's Harlequin RIPs." The browser-based software will be used to manage production workflow from APT pre-press systems, control output to a Western Lithotech CTP machine and provide data to Perretta systems for ink setting.

A Fuji Luxel V-6 CTP unit has also been selected and, once installed, Newsway will load balance between the two CTP devices.

The paper will also have the option to lock complete sections or products to a particular output device.

The Newsway Lite software will also provide the ability to schedule and prioritise jobs, automatically plan and track editions, burn furniture and text on to plates.

It will also improve communications with its automatic event notification, annotation and conferencing capabilities, said Proimage.
