The new press purchase will also coincide with Potts' increased in-house finishing capabilities and the planned move to new purpose built premises, doubling the size of the company, he added.
Potts currently supplies commercial and packaging print to local, national and European blue-chip companies.
The company is also one of only a handful of UK printing companies to hold ISO9001, ISO14001 and OHSAS18001 accreditations, it added.
Established in 1875, Potts currently employs 105 staff at its North Shields headquarters.
The firm continues to grow year on year, and is looking to exceed its target of GBP15m by 2010.
