Digital Asset Management System At Northprint

A Positive Focus product story

Positive Focus will be showing the Bremy System automated, web-based, document production on Stand M424 at Northprint in Harrogate (UK) from April 24 to 26.

Positive Focus will be showing the Bremy System, which is claimed to provide an integrated approach to automated, web-based, document production on Stand M424 at Northprint in Harrogate (UK) from April 24 to 26.

The Bremy System, which is also said to control digital assets, is based around the core of its digital asset management facility (Bremy ADAM).

Other modules build on the concept of holding each asset as a single master copy, re-purposing as required 'on the fly', with assets linked to 'products', which are the key component in any document, said Positive Focus.

There are modules available that provide template production of stationery, point of sale and tickets, as well as database publishing of catalogues and brochures to print or to the web and internet proofing and approval of documents.

it also provides publishing and tracking of e-mail newsletters, with a campaign manager module that centralises control of the publishing function, added the company.

With its modular structure a fully hosted service, Bremy is claimed to offer a scalable system for many organisations that might find installing and hosting their own DAM system a forbidding experience.

A one-off set up fee covers provision of the service, customisation of the interface and full training and a monthly payment covers storage space on the Bremy servers, with daily back-up operating under a full service level agreement, said Positive Focus.

There is no bandwidth limit or ceiling on the number, or size of asset files that can be stored on the system and no limit on the number of jobs in progress, so a single, predictable cost covers everything, added the company.

The company explained that typically, a printer might subscribe to Bremy ADAM with internet proofing and ticketing modules, allowing he or she to offer customers a full customisation service of simple business documents over the web, with 24-hour, seven days-a-week access and fully interactive proofing and approval.

Positive Focus said that it is making an introductory offer for Northprint that is said to save GBP3,000 on the set-up cost and a further GBP1,800 through reduced monthly costs over the first six months.

That allows for 9Gb of replicated storage, with daily back-ups and up to 30 password controlled user licences.

No software, other than a standard web browser with current Java plug-in is required at the client side, and additional clients can be invited in to the proofing cycle if required, without breaching the limit and there is no need to provide any specific infrastructure at the provider side, added the company.

Heavy users of the system, such as agencies, who might need to place assets online for a number of their clients, would probably choose to host the system for themselves and again there are introductory savings of around GBP6,000 on a system based on the above modules.

Users hosting their own systems removes the limit on storage space and number of clients, which are then only restricted by hardware capability.

An annual maintenance charge ensures software is kept up to date and provides comprehensive support, commented Positive Focus.

The Bremy System, which is already used in its native New Zealand, will be on show throughout Northprint at Harrogate.
