Workflow Automation Benefits At Digital Print Show

Positive Focus will show the benefits of flexible workflow automation using Gradual Switch with a variety of other products, including Impostrip and PDFColorconvert at Digital Print World.

On stand 426 at Digital Print World, Positive Focus said it will highlight new products of particular interest to Digital printers, such as the Impostrip range from Ultimate Technographics.

Positive Focus will also use the opportunity to give the first public demonstrations of new versions of such products as the XMPie personalisation software.

All of the XMPie product range has been updated to be compatible with Adobe CS3 products, said Positive Focus.

That provides additional design features that can be incorporated in to variable documents, both printed and for web delivery.

There are also productivity enhancements, not just in output and processing speed but also in modifications that are claimed to make the production cycle faster and more flexible.

Positive Focus will be demonstrating the latest versions of uDirect, Personaleffect, uImage and uStore at Earls Court on October 16 - 18.

Positive Focus, which has been working closely with XMPie for over four years said it is expanding its horizons after having completed its first installation in South Africa.

Ivor Dixon, Positive Focus's managing director, said: "Digital Print World, although a small show, attracts a vital audience for us.

We find that our 30 years of production experience is invaluable in helping make variable data print work efficiently, by putting sound creative working practices in place.

Dixon continued: "For most people, such systems are a significant investment and they have to get it right first time.

We put a lot of effort in to making sure that we not only deliver the immediate requirements but also build a platform for their future expansion and development." He explained that Positive Focus also has a range of products available that can enhance a digital workflow, so the company can show productivity benefits through the production cycle.

And he added: "Impostrip Ondemand Digital, for instance, can take an optimised PDF from the VDP software and impose it, more or less automatically, as an in-line process.

With minimal handling involved there is a saving in time and labour but also often a significant reduction in printing costs, because of reduced click charges.".
