Version 3.5 of XMPie's personalisation software is now available in the UK from Positive Focus.

The new versions of uDirect and Personaleffect support Adobe Creative Suite 3 (CS3) products.

In the same release, v3.0 of uImage for Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator CS3 is said to add performance and memory-use enhancements for image personalisation.

As a result, Positive Focus said it has extended its offer of a subsidised copy of Creative Suite 3 Design Standard with every purchase of uDirect Professional Premier Edition, XMPie's bundle, which includes uImage and uChart.

Positive Focus will demonstrate the latest versions of uDirect, PersonalEffect, uImage and uStore on stand 426 at Digital Print World, at Earls Court, London (UK) on October 16 - 18.

XMPie has also introduced a new version of its Personaleffect and uDirect software supporting the Adobe Creative Suite 3 software family and Adobe InDesign CS3 server.

Personaleffect and uDirect version 3.5 are said to take advantage of enhanced Adobe InDesign CS3 capabilities, such as transparency effects (bevel, emboss and glow), text wrap capabilities and enhanced functions for printing layers.

In addition, imaging effects, such as the non-destructive smart filters in Adobe Photoshop CS3 now expand the horizon of personalised imaging with XMPie's uImage software, said Positive Focus.

Jacob Aizikowitz, president of XMPie, said: "These enhancements underscore ourmarket leadership and commitment to the creative professional in variable data and cross media publishing.

With XMPie version 3.5, designers can bring the state-of-the-art design capabilities of CS3 in to dynamic cross media publishing campaigns." In addition, XMPie's uImage v.

3.0 is said to allow graphic designers to use all the new creative features of Photoshop and Illustrator CS3 to produce personalised images, along with a more efficient workflow designed by XMPie that includes up to 60 per cent improvement in processing performance and reduced file size and less memory requirements, said Positive Focus.

There is also output of personalised SWF (Flash) files from Illustrator uImage templates.

Adobe CS2 continues to be supported in the new version, allowing users to migrate from CS2 to CS3-based applications, although some new features are CS3 specific.
