Chemical-free plate processing for Proco
Proco has invested GBP120,000 in a print system that eliminates the need to use environmentally harmful chemicals in the plate making process.
The computer-to-plate system, developed by Agfa, will also double the plate-producing capacity to 32 per hour, improving reliability and delivery times, said Proco.
The firm also said that it is investing in new proofing systems and software to achieve ISO 12647, producing higher quality proofs without the need of an image setter and the harmful chemicals that accompany it.
Richard Green, a director of Proco, said: 'With almost every new job we have to prove our green credentials as clients demand properly sourced and managed paper stock.
'Clients also want to know the other ways in which our business is helping the environment, and these new systems are a major step forward for us.
