With the 400th UK installation of the Hermstedt Stingray, the system's supplier, Pro2col, believes the the market might have adopted a new standard in file transfer.

Since taking over distribution in March, Pro2col said it has seen an increase in sales as Stingray is adopted by a range of businesses, including agencies, publishers, printers, newspapers, packaging and reprographics companies, large corporations and government organisations.

James Lewis, managing director of Pro2col, comments: "Companies are finding that traditional FTP doesn't offer enough functions and often hinders productivity, whilst managed services don't always offer value for money.

We are seeing an increase in sales of systems across our portfolio that improve efficiency and automation and the Stingray certainly falls in to that category." Hermstedt AG sales director, Anette Hermstedt, agreed: "We are happy that Pro2col has managed, within such a short time, to increase sales and build up a remarkable number of resellers." Pro2col will be exhibiting its full range of file transfer and workflow products at Digital Print World on stand 520.
