File Transfer Server's Improvments For Flexibility

Pro2col Group will make its debut at Drupa 2008 from today to present a pre-release of version 2.5 of its Hermstedt Stingray file transfer server.

New features in Stingray include SNMP reporting, email hyperlink delivery and also browser-based upload and download, in addition to its current FTP, email and ISDN file transfer capabilities.

Stingray is claimed by Pro2col to be the world's only file transfer server with multiple protocol delivery including, HTTP, FTP, email, ISDN and Leonardo over IP.

Its claimed simplicity of use, full tracking, workflow forwarding and customised email notifications are amongst its features.

The Pro2col stand at Drupa 2008 - hall 7.0, stand E.03 - will also be the stage for the company to demonstrate a selection of its portfolio of pre-media file transfer systems.

James Lewis, Pro2col's managing director, said: "We are really excited about the future of Stingray with the version 2.5 release due shortly after Drupa 2008.

We're now finally going to see in Stingray a file transfer server that will provide users with the flexibility to communicate with their customers in the way that they prefer." And he added: "We'll have representation from our UK and German offices on the stand throughout the show underlining our commitment to the printing industry and to our customer base of 1,300 Stingray users, the bulk of whom are in Germany.".
