Printcity will be presenting best practices and latest thinking in food packaging and web offset printing technologies in its 'Connection of Competence' seminars, planned for Moscow (Russia).

Printcity will be presenting best practices and latest thinking in food packaging and web offset printing technologies in its 'Connection of Competence' seminars, planned for November 22 and 23 at the Marriott Tverskaya hotel in Moscow (Russia).

Over both days Printcity alliance members Adphos-Eltosch, Bobst, MAN Roland, MEGTEC, M-real, Sun Chemical, UPM and Weilburger will report their experiences from the world market and offer 'best practice' knowledge, advice and solutions to Russian food packaging, publishing and printing executives over an intensive two-day seminar series, said the organisation.

The seminars will cover two areas, the first of which will be the latest thinking in web offset printing.

That will embrace value added printing of newspapers - Printcity's analysis of technical, operational and economic aspects of higher quality newspaper production.

It is claimed to be the world's first in-depth study presentation by the contributing experts.

In addition, the use of large diameter paper rolls for higher output commercial and newspaper web offset presses, paper roll handling to reduce damage and waste and increase efficiency and energy efficiency on web offset presses (one of Printcity's 2007 projects) will be explored.

On November 23 the offest in food packaging seminar will focus on legal, design and pre-press requirements, which is Printcity's analysis of legal, technical, operational and design aspects of latest food packaging technology.

In addition the session will also cover food packaging production techniques, such as printing, coating, hot-foil-stamping and die-cutting, and food packaging consumable needs - board, ink, varnishes and testing methods.
